Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Method :
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and set it aside.
- In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it has melted, continue to cook the butter until it turns a golden brown colour and smells nutty, stirring frequently. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and set it aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir in the browned butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the eggs to the mixture, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
- Fold in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the brownies comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares and serving.
