Malpua

Malpua is a popular sweet dish which is cooked in every house during festival 0f Diwali, Holi. This is extremely popular dessert in India. Some people make it with all-purpose flour(maid) as well as mix little suji (semolina ) but some don’t use Suji.

Ingredients:

  • 2cup All-purpose plain flour(maida)
  • 1/2 cup suji (semolina)
  • 2cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2tbs fennel seed grounded
  • 1/4 tbs small cardamom powder
  • 5-6 almond chopped finely
  • 5-6 cashew finely chopped
  • 2tbs chironji
  • 3-4tbsdry coconut(grated)
  • oil for frying

Method:

In mixing bowl add all-purpose- flour, semolina and sugar, grated coconut, fennel powder, cardamom powder and little chopped dry fruits and mix them, then add milk to make the batter smooth.Keep aside for thirty minutes.

Take a pan add sugar and water mix them together and cook it for  4-5 minute until it gets a sticky consistency then add cardamom powder keep it aside.

Heat the oil in a heavy bottom pan and pour a spoon full of the batter make sure the flame should be medium.

If one side is properly fried flip it to the other side when both sides are completely fried take it out from the oil, now add malpua in sugar syrup which is kept aside.

For serving take the malpua in a plate from sugar syrup and sprinkle some cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits.
