Butter Naan a flavored flatbread is one of the most delicious dishes of Indian bread category. This is made in a tandoor, but can also be made on gas-stove,tawa, and oven. This is very easy, healthy and soft butter bread generally, naan is served with rich north Indian curries and Dals like Dal Makhani, Malai kofta, Gatte ki sabzi etc always make a good pair.

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar(powder)
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1tsp Baking soda
  • 1 1/2tsps Baking powder
  • 3/4cup Curd(yogurt)
  • 3-4 tbs Milk
  • 2-4 tbsp Butter(softened)
  • 1-2 tsp Nigella seeds or sesame(white )seeds
  • 4-5 fresh Coriander strings(finely chopped)
  • Water as per required
  • Butter as required for spreading on the naan

Method:

Take a big bowl then add all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, baking powder & baking soda mix it very well then add softened butter, curd & milk start kneading the flour to make it a soft and smooth dough.

Cover dough and keep aside for an hour.

After an hour dough is ready for making naan, divide the dough into medium size balls &  keep it aside for 10- 15 minutes.

Take a board lightly dust it with some flour, roll into small or medium sized naan with medium thickness, sprinkle on one side nigella seeds press with light hand & flip naan to another side brush with little water.

Place the naan on a hot tawa, when the bottom side is partly cooked you will see the bubbles being formed on the naan, then flip it on the tawa and cook it directly on the open flame, roast it till brown spot will appear on the naan. Then naan is ready.

Take a small bowl, add 2tbs butter, chopped coriander leaves { for garnishing}, mix it well and then apply the butter on the naan.

Naan is ready to be served Hot and yummy 😋
